Evergy Cares Kansas Fund

A program to help income eligible Evergy Kansas customers with assistance towards their overdue account balance.

This program is available to existing Evergy customers in Kansas who meet income requirements. Please note that customers who have received $500 or more in energy assistance in the last 90 days or have received Evergy Cares assistance in the last 12 months do not qualify for this program.

Required Documentation:
  • Government issued photo ID
  • Verification of each source of income within your household for the last 30 days for all household members of age 18 years or older. (examples below)
    • Paycheck stubs, pension or VA benefits
    • Current year benefit verification letter from Social Security office
    • Printout from DCF
    • Printout from unemployment office
    • Workers Compensation
    • Child support and/or alimony
  • Proof of address (an Evergy bill will not be accepted)

Residents of Butler, Harvey, Reno, Sedgwick or Sumner Counties must schedule their in-person appointment via QLess link on the confirmation page or email receipt. Your appointment will be held at Evergy Connect Wichita, located at 111 S. Ellis St., Wichita, KS 67211. Please bring your Proof of Address (an Evergy bill will not be accepted) as well as Proof of Income for all household members of age 18 years or older to your appointment. We also accept digital copies displayed on your personal device.

Residents from all other Kansas Counties Once your application is submitted you must schedule a virtual appointment via QLess link. Virtual appointments will be held through a Zoom Meeting. You will be required to activate your camera for the duration of this meeting.
